We do offer care instructions but due the fact that it all boils down to wear and tear, we do not suggest a particular time frame to replace or update your pillow. Funny enough, we are about to release an email news in a few minutes that touches up on this. If you are not on our mailing list, I can forward it to you as soon as it is available. With that said, our own customers keep their WLH pillows for a few years before they decide to upgrade them or replace them. I do hope this and the information below is helpful:

The best way to adjust your zippered White Lotus Home pillows is to:

1. Stand the pillow up so that you are facing the Zippered part.
2. Sift and shake the fibers inside so that they are away from the Zipper before you open the zipper. This will avoid the fibers from getting caught on the zipper
3. Remove 5 handfuls at a time, feel free to save the fibers removed, for future use. They can be stored in a box, paper or plastic bags
4. Give the pillow a try and it should work, if not, try #3 again as many times as necessary to meet your preferred conform level

In theory, as the down moults naturally, the birds shouldn't mind if it’s taken. The reality: goose down is the byproduct of keeping millions of birds around the world in cages, the lion’s share before they are slaughtered for cheap meat, or foie gras. The kapok we have been using since 2008 or so, is not organic certified. It is a fiber that grows in the rainforest just like bamboo and there has never been much of a request or need for organic certification.

It comes from Indonesia, since it does not grow in large quantities in the USA due to our lack of rainforest weather. However, we are able to get it GOTS Certified organic as soon as we are able to buy over 20 tons at a time. Something we are going to consider doing in the next year or so. Nothing compares to kapok. Care and Cleaning: Pillows, Duvets, and Bedding
As they are raw, minimally processed fibers, our products cannot be completely submerged in water without damaging the fibers within. This includes pillows and duvets.
We recommend spot cleaning your White Lotus Home pillows, duvets, and bedding with a solution of 3 parts water to one part vinegar. Spray the solution onto the stain and expose to sunlight. Let dry and repeat until the stain fades and odors dissipate. You can also substitute vinegar with a mild laundry detergent. For surface stains, hydrogen peroxide works well for blood, whereas rubbing alcohol can help to remove oils from cosmetics.

Bedding should not remain damp, as it may encourage uneven wear or mold growth. Following a spill or cleaning, dry any moisture by placing the item in the sun or by using a hair dryer. Ensure it is fully dry before re-adding sheets or protective covers, such as our Barrier Cloth Covers.

Refreshing Pillows & Duvets
Some fibers, particularly kapok, can absorb the natural oils that keep our face and skin healthy. To restore loft and fluffiness, pillows may be placed in the dryer on the "Cold Air/ Fluff" setting for 15 to 20 minutes. Specially-designed wool dryer balls or clean tennis balls can aid in fluffing the inner fibers. To prevent any damage to the inner fibers, never use a heated setting.

A soft filled Kapok should work for either of them. The zipper is always good to have if you need to remove some of the fill or add to it if needed. Thanks!
