- Thickness: Futons are typically 5" thick; mattresses are 6" and up (up to 8").
- Handles: Mattresses include side handles; futons do not.
- Shape: Mattresses have boxy sides; futons have rounded edges.
- Both use the same premium organic materials — the difference lies in design and price. All mattress styles can be made as either futons or mattresses.
