Hello and greetings! We have been very eco-conscious for years, and so were very excited to find bedding that was safe and clean, personally and for the planet. I bought my first White Lotus futon when they were displayed in the front window of The Whole Earth Center in Princeton. Our family was little at the time. The next futon, buckwheat hull neck pillow and three great pillows with beautiful fabric covers, were bought at the Chambers Street store? Not sure if that is the street name but I think so. It was a cool little shop off of Nassau Street Street in Princeton. LOVED LOVED LOVED the fabric choices for covers both for the futons and the pillows! Next double futon came from the super big shore on Nassau Street. It had really great showrooms with futons, furniture, pillows, covers and was a place you could spend all day checking out sooo many great options. We had a record store on Nassau St then so spent lots of time there with our two little ones. Next we ordered two twin futons. We moved to Pennsylvania and by then you were in New Brunswick. We bought our first stowaway from there, and a super cover that had ties for when it needed to be rolled up and tucked away, along with many more pillows and some really nice eco foam padding. Our latest purchases were a queen futon, another double, a topper and more pillows. My daughter has her own family now. She and her husband sleep on a White Lotus mattress. My grandchildren slept on White Lotus crib mattresses and now all three are on White Lotus twins. An extra stowaway was brought back over to Mamo’s house for an extra bed when all they all sleep over here. So that is three generations of White Lotus lovers and a timeline which White Lotus has continued to be a part of. The quality, comfort, integrity and vision of White Lotus set a standard when not many were thinking of all the important eco factors involved. I applaud Marlon and the many workers through out the decades who were key to producing such an impressive line of eco-friendly/eco-conscious super high quality home products! What an amazing impact you have made in the lives of many.

My White Lotus Home Story -
I have been a very satisfied customer since 2015 when the Highland Park store was opened. My home is fully furnished by WLH!
My first purchases were bedding including lots of organic cotton pillows/pillowcases, and two futon cotton mattresses (California King and Queen) with sheets and duvets. Then the next purchase was a futon couch with center table and two side tables which I still have but have since replaced the mattress for the couch.
Next purchase from WLH is in one bedroom which is a queen-size bed frame with a cotton futon mattress along with sheets and two duvets. I replaced the mattress once (at WLH).
Next purchase for the other bedroom i has queen size bed frame with cotton futon mattress along with complete bedroom furniture which I purchased at White Lotus Home – two dressers and two nightstands. Also purchased sheets, new pillows/pillowcases.
Most recent purchase is dining room set – table, 6 chairs with custom cotton organic fabric, and breakfront. At same time I ordered cotton stow for exercising.
Currently I have 11 pillows from WLH in sizes ranging from king to small. The pillowcases have lovely designs. I also purchased an exercise mat covered in organic cotton, two bolsters, custom curtains.
Almost all the coverings of duvets, stow, chairs are sweet potato colored organic cotton.
Not only have I enjoyed my excellent high quality purchases but my experience with WLH sales and installation folks has been exceptional. I have enjoyed the pleasure of working with Elizabeth over the years.
Thanks for the opportunity to support the sustainability our environment by purchasing WLH products which are environmentally friendly and support sustainability. That goes along with my commitment to buy organic food and clothing.
I am attaching a photo of a Viking end table I purchased in October 2015, as an old purchase. Besides pillows and bed linens and mattresses which have since been replaced I think this may be one of my first purchases that I still have.

I have found a few pounds of your organic wool to be a gold mine! That and a few pillow protectors have given me three heavenly pillows. I first put a few sheets of the wool inside a protector, folded it in half, and then placed it inside an organic cotton drawstring tube bag. It's now a bouncy back pillow that transforms my hard plastic chair into a wellspring of comfort. I thought it would be too thick or too soft but it hits just the right spot and keeps on giving! My back keeps telling me it's much happier!
Then I needed a pillow to put on top of my wedge cushion to give it extra padding when I'm elevating my problematic legs. I've found that a few sheets of the wool inside a protector and an organic cotton pillow case have me on cloud nine every day and never really ready to get off!
Lastly, there's my Little Chubby, my knee pillow. Same basic recipe, stuffed pretty high. Now I can sleep on my side without putting so much pressure on my knees. And I'm sleeping much better!

I bought the futon sofa frame with a mattress, pillows, and covers at the Princeton store 21 years ago (the frame outlived the store). I absolutely refuse to part with the sofa. A few years ago, it moved with me across several state borders, arriving in perfect shape. I am now on my second futon and getting ready for another replacement - from White Lotus Home of course (and in the meantime also purchased two toppers for my family).

Here is our White Lotus Story.
Little by little we would add pillows and toppers. When our third son was born, it was time for our next White Lotus mattress. We put both beds in a T formation and my older sons slept on one mattress and we slept with our new baby on the other mattress.
When our 4th son was born our boys took their big mattress to another room and eventually the boys wanted bunk beds. We put two sets of bunk beds next to each other in one room and ordered 4 more mattresses.
My children have stayed with us until they were ready to move to another room with their brothers. They have never had sleep issues and their beds are a haven for them. Part of it is how they are raised and part of it is our White Lotus beds and bedding. My boys now ages 19-11 years are best friends. Having a cozy bedroom creates a space where they all hang out together. They could sleep in separate rooms but they choose to stay together. Having a safe, healthy space helped to foster their relationship.
We just remodeled a guest room and decided to get a new mattress. Marlon and his father came and helped us flip all of the mattresses and even brought sample pillows so my sons could get exactly the right pillow. It was like a visit with old friends as they helped us set up all these mattresses and make things feel fresh again. I don’t know of any company who would take such time to help us in this way.

How can I compete with all the fabulous stories people have been sharing about what White Lotus products have done for their lives? You create beautiful, healthful, well-made products and if I could, I'd fill my entire house with everything from your store. But as it is, I can't and so little by little over the last two decades I have purchased what I could.
I used to wake up with burning, stinging lungs. When I was younger, I didn't think much about it- I thought that was the way it was as we aged because no one (or at least no one I knew) talked about the toxins we're surrounded with in our bedding and furnishings. That was when I discovered from a local futon frame builder that there were futons made without flame retardants, but you had to have a doctor's prescription to have access to such things. She told me to look into White Lotus Home.
Because Marlon told me you didn't need flame retardants with wool, my first purchase was two wool pillows. Right away I noticed when I woke in the morning that my lungs burned less. I saved my money and WLH sewed me a custom made wool topper and then going to sleep became a treat. It felt like the proverbial sleep of the babies- soft, cozy, welcoming, pure, and safe.
Over the years I have bought cloth, covers, kapok fiber and buckwheat hulls, making my own creations of pillows, pads and, poufs.I began getting rid of throw pillows around the house and furniture with stuffing. The whole house began to feel healthier and lighter in an inexplicable way.
Step by step I took this journey towards healthfulness. I was so moved by the products that WLH sent me pamphlets for their business and I drove around upstate New York posting them in appropriate locations. My reward was a kapok travel pillow which is my Linus blanket. I have to have it . I feel my head sinking into it and I relax and sleep, breathing in its soft, earthy scent.
Now when people visit, they comment on the wholesome smell of the house and how safe and cozy it feels. Thank you, White Lotus! It's great to know someone is out there making products you can trust and love.

My pillow story began at one of my friend's home. Sleeping in her guest room, I commented on how comfortable the pillows were. Being the 100% organic gal that she is, she hipped me to White Lotus Home, how the pillows were kapok and how the business was 100% family run. Over the years, a handful of us have slowly made the transition to items we know are better for the planet. We want things that will break down easily. We want bedding that is as close to zero chemicals involved. I purchased my first pillow from WLH and was hooked. I started with two standard size kapok pillows and the waterproof protector pillow cases. Later I purchased a buckwheat hull rounded bolster, a zabutan and a zafu yoga seat. I was so curious about the buckwheat hull as a sleeping pillow that I eventually purchased a travel sized one to try out. It is now THE pillow I reach for and it never went on a trip. I also purchased a kapok contour pillow. Between the buckwheat travel and zapok contour, there are no complaints. When my first pillows felt like it was time for new stuffing, I ordered kapok in bulk and of course I ordered way too much! No problem! I used the extra stuffing for a small decorative pillow in my living room. I was gifted a Majlis set - the floor cushion, backrest and arm rest covers. I made inserts for each and used the stuffing for them! So instead of it being super firm, I can roll up the floor cushion and use it when overnight guests come through. I love a good pillow and I have plenty from WLH to back that up. And like the friend who told me about WLH, I am always singing WLH praises and sending folks to the website. Simply, I am fan. In time I hope to replace all synthetic stuffing from my decor pillows with WLH fiber and try out the natural latex to reupholster a storage ottoman.
