NEW BRUNSWICK: A pioneering eco-friendly bedding and home décor company founded in New Brunswick in 1981 is back in the city of its birth after a ten-year absence—and ready to party.
White Lotus Home, maker and retailer of 100% made-in-America Certified Organic biodegradable bedding and pillows, employs a team of skilled artisans to make all of its products by hand in New Jersey from organic plant-based materials including cotton, buckwheat, kapok, and latex. Certified as a green business at enviro-business trade organization Green America’s Gold (most stringent) level, the 36-year-old company is expected to hit $2 million in sales this year. On July 1, after a decade in Highland Park, the company will open its doors at 745 Joyce Kilmer Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 09801. The showroom will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
To celebrate its new home after some time to work out any kinks, White Lotus will host a Back to School Bash with free organic burgers, veggie burgers, tofu pups, and hot dogs on regular or gluten-free buns, 4-6 p.m., Saturday, September 9. Selected bedding will also be on sale the entire first two weeks of September.
